Nokia Communication Center

We never fail to mention in our reviews that standard means of PC synchronization, that is, Microsoft Outlook, are not the best way to go – while Windows Mobile devices embrace a more or less passable system, Nokia’s smartphones and feature phones will make you go through a whole lot of trouble when synchronizing them with PC (primarily due to a different layout of entries and fields). A possible way-out are third-party applications (along the lines of Oxygen Phone Suite), however not just about every user is willing to pay for extra conveniences. That’s why the debut of Nokia Communication Center software package is a reasonable step in the right direction, and since it’s only beta as yet, we won’t be too harsh on it throughout this quick review.

Virgin Mobile Festival Wild Card Special Edition

To celebrate the Virgin Mobile Festival coming up in August, Virgin and Kyocera are launching a limited run of the custom-themed Virgin Mobile Festival Wild Card Special Edition. Believe it not, that’s supposedly an abridged version the device’s full name: Virgin Mobile Festival Wild Card Special Edition Ultra Mobile Xtreme Deux Plus. Deluxe. They’re throwing in all kinds of perks with the purchase of this QWERTY clam shell: In addition to 50 eMusic downloads and a one year subscription to SPIN magazine, flashing the device at the festival will score you access to the Virgin Mobile Guest Lounge (although you’ll probably still need to buy your way into the festival itself), where Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson will purportedly be hanging out (read: probably not).

Don't be ashamed, you're out to get every last morsel of Kickstart goodness before RIM's first flip phone ever hits the market. Samsung phone claims Safari web browser

Samsung hoped to draw extra attention on Wednesday by unveiling the L870, its latest slider phone. The handset is said to not only use a full HTML web browser but allegedly uses the mobile version of Apple's Safari web browser. The company doesn't mention receiving permission from Apple for the product and also fails to explain how the software would be used on the device: aside from the need to port from OS X iPhone to the Symbian Series 60 OS used by the phone as well as changing controls to use a conventional directional pad as the interface instead of the iPhone's multi-touch display.
Electronista has contacted Apple to verify the accuracy of the claim but is still awaiting an official response.
Regardless of claimed browser support, the L870 takes

Sony Ericsson busts out a Ducati-themed Z770

We've seen plenty of gear co-branded by high-end automakers, but only Ducati's really putting out bike-themed gear, and the latest gadget to get dressed up in cycle gear is the Sony Ericsson Z770 flip phone. Due out in Italy this June, the Ducati Z770 isn't anything particularly special apart from that paint job and a special Ducati-themed HBH DS-220 headset, but if you're into tri-band GSM non-smartphones with slightly better browsers, it's not a bad piece of kit. Just remember to take your keys out of your bike when you wander off chatting away, alright?

HTC Touch Diamond - First impressions:

If it is are our first take on the HTC Touch Diamond that you are after, then you’ll find it all in our special write-up. The thing is, we are going to omit this part in the today's article, which will be rather a quick run-through, a round-up after a day of quality time with the Diamond. Also we are going to answer some frequently asked questions about the Touch Diamond at the end. Without further ado, here goes. The main material employed in the Touch Diamond’s design is plastic – the rear is decked out in snazzy glossy plastic, although its utilitarian merits are thin on the ground (which is something we always grumble about). The back cover is the epitome of “fingerprint-magnet”, plus it will pick up scuffs and scratches with time, which is also a generic trait of
