    The Mobile Phone’s Camera and Bad Judgment Lead to Tragedy



    Guwahati in northeast India was the setting for a terrible accident which could have been prevented. A man visiting the local zoo tried to get a close-up picture on his mobile phone of a rare Royal Bengal tiger. Due to his close proximity to the animals, he was attacked and mauled to death by two of tigers.The man jumped over protective fencing in order to get closer to the iron gated area where the tigers were enclosed. He endangered himself in order to capture the shot on his mobile phone. One of the big cats managed to get hold of one of his arms and ripped into the 50 year old man.     Mobile Addicts in South Korea



    South Korea was the first country to every go ahead with a program to combat mobile phone addiction among youngsters. They went ahead with this initiative following the so-called “alarming” statistics which were published. The figures showed that 90% of youngsters between the ages of 14 and 19 own mobile phones. 44% percent of these mobile phone users have tended to send text messages during school lessons. The most alarming of statistics would have to be that 38% of these uses send over 1000 text messages a month. Organizations in South Korea joined together to teach the students about proper cellular usage.     Finally …what we have all been waiting for has happened. We no longer have to be held back by the regulations. Mobiles can be used during flight. One catch however… you have to fly to or from Dubai on Emirates.
    Emirates Airlines initiated the service on a flight between Dubai and Casablanca, successfully becoming the first commercial airline permitting mobile phone usage whilst cruising through the skies. Emirates have equipped an Airbus A340 with a system that has been designed to halt the interference created by mobile phones. The airline plans to continue this endeavor by equipping additional planes in the fleet. The system allows for use once the aircraft has reached a cruising altitude.     Google has come out with another invention in software development. This time around, Google’s software allows friends to track the locations of each other. This new app, that is sure delight stalkers, jealous boyfriends and worried mothers, is called Google Latitude.     A prominent internet publication called RCRWireless published an interesting article today regarding the improved training employees are receiving due to the depth and complications of Smartphone services. Best Buy Mobile, for example, claimed that its employees go through a rigorous training program of more than 80 hours in preparation for providing the marketing and technical discipline required to provide the best service for customers – many who claim that they would purchase a Smartphone if the setup process was easier.
