New Lenovo P960 with Fingerprint Identification Security

Tired of your wife snooping and sleuthing her way through your cell phone? The new P960 cell phone by Lenovo may just be the answering you’ve been waiting for. The P960 comes armed with the Atrua Technologies made-for-mobile fingerprint solution. Atrua’s fingerprint defense mechanism specifically targets those who often store sensitive information on their mobile device. The problem however, is that the type of consumers who may really benefit from this product (executives, politicians, pimps) are obviously going to require a high end cell phone that has the tools and applications suited for their fast pace, time is money, type of world. The P960, without 3G and Wi-Fi, falls short of the mark. This phone is probably more suited for those who need to keep pictures and…

Government of India to Demand Sponsorship for Sim Card Buyers

It’s all gone downhill for the great country of India since Gandhi. The ideologies of freedom and peace for those in the biggest economy in South Asia have apparently escaped the minds of the Indian government which appears to be embracing a passive sort of fascism. This latest fiasco is the outrageous demand by the Indian government for all citizens purchasing a sim card for the first time to obtain a recommendation by two other sim card owners. India cited the reason for this laughable new law as a defense mechanism against terrorism. How is gathering a pair of signatures supposed to stop terrorism? There isn’t exactly a shortage of people in India and a cell phone seeking soul is sure to have no problem finding two people who are willing to be sponsors on the streets…

    Fashion Joins Cell Phones

Shameless cross promotion is nothing new in a world that places a significant emphasis on marketing, but this latest initiative by fashion gurus to attach their brand name to cell phones has left this skeptical writer scratching his head in confusion. Yes, the idea of the LG Prada, or the Samsung Victoria Secret, or whatever else the bottom line money hounds of the fashion industry may think of, does carry some merit with the fashion crowd, but what about the other way around? Would a self respecting heterosexual male executive purchase the ever fashionable Louis Vuitton leather BlackBerry? Somehow I doubt it would go over well with most of the cell phone crowd. Not to mention that price gauging will be in full display. It’s sort of like buying and Eddie Bauer toilet.…

FindMe Know Available on Symbian S60

Facebook junkies now have the option of going mobile with the social networking app FindMe now available on Symbian S60 smartphones. FindMe allows others on your friends list to know where you are at all times – thus a mobile version of this application was simply a matter of time. You have the option of letting your friends know exactly where you are at all times, so if you’re getting a colonoscopy or donating urine – your friends can know. Of course, you can become a man or woman of mystery by turning off your FindMe and letting your friends wonder what you’re up too. Annoying girlfriend? Let her wonder if you stopped by her best friend’s house. Though to be honest, if you don’t want anybody finding you, it wouldn’t make sense to use FindMe in the first place. The…

    New LG KEYBO Now Available

Finding yourself texting more than actually talking on your mobile device? The LG KEYBO is aimed primarily at those with a texting addiction, who would rather use their fingers than their mouths. Released first under Telus, a mobile carrier in Canada, the LG KEYBO comes with a twin internal display, as well as an outer display. 1GB memory and Windows Live Messenger pretty much guarantee that the LG KEYBO is text ready at all times. It even allows you to perform text changes like color tones so you can feel like you’re using your home version of MSN. The only problem with this whole affair is not the cell phone, but the carrier. Telus recently announced a new text payment plan that will see unfortunate Canucks pay $0.15 CAD for incoming text. This diabolical scheme is…

Telus and Bell to Raise Text Rates

Canada’s long and romantic infatuation with evil communistic socialism has taken a turn for the worse. (Or best if you support barbaric capitalistic values) Two leading carriers from the world’s coldest country, Telus and Bell Mobility, have dropped a kamikaze announcement that subscribers will now have to pay 15 cents for incoming text messaging. Bell Mobility, once Canada’s only Telecom Company and now its worst, has announced that they are implementing this oppressive behavior starting this Friday. Telus, Canada’s leading cell phone provider in the western party of the country, (as if that should count for anything) will allow consumers a short grace period before implementing their tariff of 15 cents as well. Furious mobs of consumers have already threatened to take…

New Mophie Battery for the iPhone

Mophie (Where do they come up with these names?) introduced the new Juice Pack 3G iPhone battery on Monday. Apparently the Governor of iPhone batteries, the Juice Pack 3G will allow your iPhone to stay awake for approximately 350 hours more than with a normal Apple battery – just in case you plan on walking across the Sahara and can’t do it without your iPhone. Mophie promises six more hours of talk time on 3G and double that amount on EDGE. In addition, the Juice Pack 3G will give iPhone users six more hours on the internet, eight and 28 hours of increased video and audio time respectively. The Juice Pack has built in safeguards against over charging, over heating and kicking and stomping from angry customers. The only stumbling block would be the $99.95 price tag, but…

    The Moot!!!

Let’s not dispute the fact that we humans are a race of fools. Our addiction to MySpace, MSN, Facebook and a dozen or so more electronic time wasters is probably the main reason we haven’t found the time to do more important activities like finding a cure for cancer, or landing on Mars. Now a new piece of time wasting software is available, which pretty much guarantees the continuation of our endless spiral towards oblivion. It’s called Moot and it promises to take mobile social media to a whole new level. What Moot does is essentially follow the user around and provide constant interaction in the local Moot community. You can interact with fellow fools…. oops, I mean Mooters, talking about nothing and completely wasting you time. (MSN in other words) Don’t be na?ve…

    The BlackBerry Mac

It’s called the FlowBerry and it’s basically a BlackBerry with a Mac like makeover. While the physical shape of the BlackBerry will stay same, the FlowBerry theme will alter its display, thus giving your BlackBerry a Mac like look. The Flowberry can alter your icons and give you the infamous Leopard wallpaper (what ever the heck that is) for a very Mac like feel. The only aspect of the BlackBerry that the FlowBerry cannot change is the home screen icons. The Flowberry is a Premium theme that costs a relatively expensive $6. (Expensive for a theme that is) Some of the new icons look very crisp and clean, but the theme is far from perfect – with the occasional uncommon Mac like blemish somewhat ruining the experience. The Flowberry works best with BlackBerries running 4.3…

Konami to Release PES 2009 in the Fall

The almost cult like obsession with European Football in…. well Europe, has prompted video game designer Konami to release a mobile Football game. After the massive success of their PES 2008, Konami has announced that the sequel, PES 2009, will see the light of day this fall. The new mobile game of Footie will enjoy superior graphics and an AI boost. Hopefully this means that you will no longer be able to kick the ball over the goalkeeper’s head from midfield – a sad, but devilishly fun glitch in some games. PES 2009 will include a new collection of stadiums and plenty of bonus features to go along with a robust training challenge that promises to keep players entertained on even the longest bus ride. (Nobody would play this at home, right?) Konami has included a multi…
