SMS text messaging, you mean the Email thing?

A new & absolutely amazing research has shown that SMS text messaging isn't used oftenly by Americans. Sure, there have been counless number of SMS text messages sent over the years, but per “Head” there is a very small number. According to this survey, it wouldn't translate very well. Researchers at Ipsos MediaCT found that SMS text messaging was either used by a mobile subscriber on a recurring basis, or almost not at all. In the US, 82% of respondents indicated that they had never used the text messaging feature on their mobile phone. A full 3% indicated that they had used text messaging on, at most, a monthly basis, while 15% used text messaging "every week or more." Visions of the new BlackBerry Thunder...

New images shows an apparently reworked media player for Research in Motion's first touch-screen handset. All images indicate an interface that is heavily based on the current BlackBerry system but includes an iPhone style category picker for music, video, recording, and other features, but also has a more visual album browser and a full-screen video player than last Black model. The Thunder will also reportedly have access to a carrier-supplied music store that will help the new BlackBerry compete against the iPhone, although the nature of the store is unknown; Verizon is rumored to be the exclusive provider for the Thunder and would use its V CAST music store in such a case. No further information has been supplied regarding the phone, though multiple past rumors have…

    The Hole Phone

A new mobile concept designed by a student Chi Shing Lo as part of Orange’s D&AD Student Awards at De Montfort University. This amazing design replaces the camera-phone view-finder with a simple: Hole. Using it to hang the phone on a charger when its low on juice, or needs to upload shots to a PC. Shunning fiddly cables, troublesome camera menus and making use of the phone’s shape to solve the problem of shooting a quick snap, the design set our minds racing instantly. There’s no word on whether it’ll go into production, but we love the idea of induction charging just by hanging the handset on a “power-peg,” as well as peeping through the spy-hole to snap photos of our friends. Congratulations to Chi Shing Lo on his wonderful work…

    The European Union cutting prices.

Price of using data on cell devices while abroad, will always includes access to the internet. There was an obvious failure by the companies to reach an agreement that may see legislation that would force them to change the way charging their customers. Details of whether or not a deal has been reached are due later. EU Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding is not expecting the firms to have agreed to sufficiently lower their roaming charges.
