In an attempt to destroy any remaining freedom that was once the hallmark of American society, the FBI has endorsed a proposal by the Senate Judiciary Committee that would require prepaid cell phone buyer’s information records be kept in a similar fashion to standard cell phone purchases. As of right now, drug dealers and other rogues use prepaid cell phones because it is more difficult to discover their personal information and identity. It seems that the FBI and the Federal Government have forgotten one of the most famous quotes in American history. ‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’ Unfortunately, such independent thinking has long since evaporated and is now more myth than fact. It is unclear at this time if there is a lobby that is strong enough and willing enough to stand against such tyrannical thinking in Washington.
