E-Ten debuts trio of Glofiish at Computex

Cellphone maker E-Ten has debuted a trio of new Glofiish phones at the Taiwanese Computex expo. Leading these according to MobileBurn is the X900, a touchscreen device running the professional version of Windows Mobile 6.1. Although the device also has HSDPA broadband, its primary feature may be the style of touch control, which is said to resemble the TouchFLO interface used on HTC's Touch handsets. A difference is that the X900 uses 3D effects and large icons better suited to fingers. The X610 shares this interface in common, but adds a GPS module, in exchange for dropping HSDPA. Instead users must rely on a quad-band GSM/EDGE connection for data. The DX900 appears to be related to the X900, but concentrates on its dual-SIM support, which lets users keep two different…

According to The Telegraph, women spend more on gadgets than they do on shoes - on average, ?391 ($771) a year. That's a total of ?17 billion ($33.5 billion). Not only that, they're also driving the uptake of online video and web TV. "The Japanese have long grasped the female approach to gadgets, and made a tidy profit from it. When Asian telecoms firm DoCoMo commissioned a woman to design a mobile internet service, she asked women what they wanted from their phones. It proceeded to launch the most successful mobile phone service ever - i-mode - and a range of slick "clamshell" handsets that set world standards. The (usually male) designers in the West scoffed - "too small", they said; "too feminine". Who needs cameras on mobile…
