After being bashed by pundits and users regarding their reaction to the ‘death grip’ problem with the iPhone 4, Apple has announced that the problem could be solved shortly with the release of the iOS 4.01. The problem in question is the poor reception that iPhone 4 users experienced when gripping the lower left hand corner of the device. Apple believes that this is a software problem and is apparently releasing a firmware update today that should hopefully rectify this unfortunate situation. Steve Jobs had mentioned earlier that users were simply not holding the iPhone correctly. However, there was enough of a public outrage over that comment that Apple has instead decided to do the right thing and create a fix. Let us just hope that the problem will be solved. If it is not, then a recall might have to come into effect – something that would most certainly be a deathblow for Apple.
