Thornley is named after the founder of the band vocalist/guitarist Ian Thornley, who is also known as an ex-member of Big Wreck. The band also comprised such musicians as drummer Sekou Lumumba, bassist Ken Tizzard, and guitarist Tavis Stanley. Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace) produced the band. The band became successful soon after forming.
