The Lemonheads (former title: Whelps) was founded by singer/guitarist/drummer Evan Dando, singer/guitarist/drummer Ben Deily, and bassist Jesse Peretz. Before signing with the Taang! label the band released the Laughing All the Way to the Cleaners EP. In 1997 the group issued its debut album called Hate Your Friends.
