Jim Gold (vocals and guitar) and Dennis Kovarik (vocals and bass) formed the Gallery in Detroit. In 1972 the duo released its first album, Nice to Be With You, on the Sussex label. The following year the band recruited Cal Freeman and Fred DiCenso (guitars) and Cal Freeman (drums) and issued its second eponymous full-length. Soon after that the group split.
