Patrick Carney (drums) and Dan Auerbach (vocals and guitar) founded the Black Keys in Akron, OH in the early 2000's. The bandmembers were heavy influenced by music of such musicians as James Brown and Jimi Hendrix. The duo's first full-length album entitled The Big Come Up was released in 2002. After that the duo signed the contract with the Fat Possum label.
