Tha Alkaholiks rap project was founded in in Los Angeles the early 90's by Tash (real name: Rico Smith), J-Ro (real name: James Robinson), and DJ E-Swift (real name: Eric Brooks). The band first appeared on the King Tee's album called Tha Triflin' Album (1993). The same year the trio signed with the Loud/RCA label and released the "Likwit/Only When I'm Drunk" single.
