The Waxwings band was formed in Detroit by singer and guitarist Dean Fertita, bassist Kevin Peyok, guitarist Dominic Romano, and percussionist James Edmunds. They signed the record contract with the Bobsled label and issued their first full-length album Low to the Ground 2000. The record was followed by the group's second effort called Shadows of the Waxwings in 2002.
