The leader of the band called Jeb Bonansinga (guitarist, singer, and songwriter) in 1990 formed the Riptones. The band also included such musicians as his brother Tod Bonansinga on vocals and rub board, Earl Carter on bass, Andon T. Davis on guitar, and Tom Harmon on drums. The band became extremely popular pretty soon after their forming.
