The Hollow (former title: Vaalkyrian) was formed by singer and guitarist Andreas Stoltz, guitarist Marcus Bigren, drummer Urban Wikstrom, and bassist Thomas Nilsson. The group's first album entitled Modern Cathedral appeared in 1998. The record became rather successful; the full-length called Architect of the Mind followed it the next year.
