Nokia Hammers N-Gage Customers

Those finicky Fins have really done it this time. Apparently the Nokia N-Gage only allows the transfer of games from once device to another a single time. Sequential upgrades or phone changes would result in a loss of all previously purchased games. Nokia has gone bat dung crazy in my opinion. First of all, when you purchase a game, that game is your property and you should be free to use your purchase with in reason. Second, what happens to loyal Nokia customers when they upgrade their cell phones a second time? Doesn’t this fascist policy drive customers away? It is ironic that the same company that was always considered insightful when it came to customer’s needs and desires should all of a sudden embark on a journey of wireless bondage and discrimination. This is

Nokia Has Finally Lost It!

Nokia has unleashed the N96 upon unsuspecting Yanks in the hopes of competing against the marketdominating iPhone and the upstart G1. The N96 is one powerful phone that packs a 5 mega-pixel camera and 16 GB of memory. Throw in the microSD card slot and Wi-Fi and Americans will be dancing naked in the streets, full of ecstasy and liberty. However, when they hear the price of the Nokia N96, those naked members are sure to shrivel up faster than a frightened turtle. $842 is the mind numbing and laughable number that those wacky Fins have come up with. Apparently the recession has not reached Finland; that or a bunch of sneaky Laplanders switched the price tag when nobody was looking. It is hard to believe that even those with cash to burn in these tumultuous and unstable

Ghostwire Wins Nokia Game Challenge

Nokia, ever lazy in developing their own products, have announced that a game called Ghostwire has been voted the winner of the 40,000 Euro challenge. A Different Game, the company that developed Ghostwire, will also be given a contract with Nokia in order to further develop their content. Ghostwire actually looks rather crappy in some screen shots currently on the net, but just as in books, you should never judge a video game by its cover. A Different Game developed a cool concept for Ghostwire in which the player can actually hunt for ghosts by using their cell phone camera. While Nokia claims that an indepedent panel decided on the eventual winners of the lazy Nokia competition, two of the three winners are Scandinavian, with A Different Game being based out of

Nokia’s Drop in Profits Not a Surprise

Everyone by now is well aware that Nokia has taken a massive hit in profits this quarter. The world’s leading cell phone manufacturer has watched with despair as it profits sank to 1 Billion Euros – down from 1.5 when compared to the same quarter of the previous calendar year. Yet for all of the worry and confusion that has been expressed from cell phone addicts world wide, this drop in profits should not come as a surprise. The wireless industry has become increasingly competitive over the last few years and the proverbial pie has not grown in proportion. In addition, the budget of the average consumer is already stretched thin as it is. Unrelated to the current global economic crisis, there is only so much one person can spend on cell phones and related products. This

Well it’s about freaking time. After having to endure the useless and over hyped games that have slithered and crawled their way on to mobile handsets and app stores everywhere, we can now all rest easy. The game will be called Resident Evil Degeneration and will feature cutting edge graphics that are designed to take advantage of the N-Gage’s awesome hardware capabilities. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is just the beginning and

Nokia to Launch ‘Comes with Music’ in the UK

There hasn’t been this much cause for celebration in England since the infamous World Cup victory 500 years ago. (Did that even really happen?) The uproar of pleasure in the UK is the announcement by Nokia that the rainy isle will be the first market to experience Nokia’s new ‘Comes with Music’ service. The phone designated for the inaugural launch is the blessed 5310 XpressMusic phone. The 5310 will be available at Carphone Warehouse and various other British retailers. The ‘Comes with Music’ allows purchasers of the 5310 to receive free access for a year to Nokia’s music store that will include content from Sony BMG, Universal and Warner Music. It does make sense for Nokia to test run this new service (it should be available before Christmas) in the rather unforgiving

Nokia Reveals the N85

The Nokia N85 is here and mobile entertainment will apparently never be the same again. (At least that’s what Nokia claims.) The N85 is an all in one entertainment wonder that provides cutting edge gaming, music, video and much more. 10 made-for-mobile N-Gage games come preloaded as well as a 5 Megapixel camera and an 8GB microSD card. Let’s not forgot the N85’s ability to play tunes for over 30 hours, which will come in handy when you’re using the 3.5 mm audio jack to connect to headsets. All of this audio is of course geared towards using the Nokia Music Store, but we can live with the price gauging as long as the N85 doesn’t disappoint. The infamous Nokia Download application will also come standard, which opens up a whole dazzling selection of entertainment for the

New Travel Guide Available Through Nokia Maps and Lonely Planet

Nokia has joined forces with travel expert Lonely Planet in order to offer tourism and travel services to users of Nokia handsets. This new service will be available through Nokia Maps and will cost 7.99 British Pounds. (That’s about 350 American dollars.) This new travel guide will give recommendations regarding popular tourism destinations and attractions, such as bars, restaurants and much more. Lonely Planet and Nokia claim to have over 100 destinations online and more to come in the near future. Questions still revolve around the possible application’s integration with GPS services and whether or not destinations released in the future will cost an additional sum. Stephen Palmer, head hound at Lonely Planet Publications could hardly contain his excitement when he

Nokia Comes with Games

It appears that besides mobile advertising, the next big brouhaha in the cell phone industry is games. Even though video games on cell phones is nothing new, Nokia’s plan to launch the ‘Comes with Games’ service has caused a lot of hype to spread across the mobile landscape. Following the successful ‘Comes with Music’, Nokia has obviously set its sights on gaming in order improve customers' mobile experience and better the lifestyle of Fins, Laplanders and little gnomes in underground lairs. This new and bold initiative by Nokia is sure to anger some mobile carriers who will undoubtedly loss traffic and purchases in their own mobile service. Nokia’s ‘Comes with Music’ has been a rousing success, at least that’s what the critics are saying, and there is no reason why |

Nokia E71 on Sale in America

While hordes of deranged Goblins stormed Apple stores for the thrice time to grab the overhyped iPhone to satisfy their brain-washed minds, those of us with a little more patience and composure waited until today for the Nokia E71. The slimmest QWERTY smartphone in existence, the Nokia E71 comes with enough goodies and gizmos to make even the staunchest critic weep like a school girl. Wi-Fi, GPS and video camera are just the tip of the iceberg for this ultra slim and ultra brilliant cell phone. While the Nokia E71 appeals to everyone, business Trolls will become addicts over night with the phone’s Mail for Exchange and Intellisync. Email setup will apparently be a snap regardless of the type of email – personal or corporate exchange server. Very light and small, but
