It’s all gone downhill for the great country of India since Gandhi. The ideologies of freedom and peace for those in the biggest economy in South Asia have apparently escaped the minds of the Indian government which appears to be embracing a passive sort of fascism. This latest fiasco is the outrageous demand by the Indian government for all citizens purchasing a sim card for the first time to obtain a recommendation by two other sim card owners. India cited the reason for this laughable new law as a defense mechanism against terrorism. How is gathering a pair of signatures supposed to stop terrorism? There isn’t exactly a shortage of people in India and a cell phone seeking soul is sure to have no problem finding two people who are willing to be sponsors on the streets of Mumbai. (Or Bombay, or Bollywood, or whatever you want to call it.) Is this the Indian government’s way of clamping down on the cell phone public? Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
