While the schoolyard bickering between Adobe and Apple continues, it appears that iPhone users are demanding the use of Flash on their phones. Adobe claims that it received over 7 million requests for Flash on the iPhone in December alone. Even though the public is hell bent on Adobe access, that will surely improve the web experience on the iPhone, it does not appear that Apple will be caving in for the foreseeable future. Any potential cooperation between the two companies was kyboshed when Steve Jobs called Adobe lazy and Adobe’s response that Apple was being difficult. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Apple wanted Adobe to adhere fully to their demands, while Adobe bulked at the idea of Apple treating it like a fiefdom. In any case, John Q. Phone suffers from this corporate posturing, but that is not something that Apple has ever really cared about.
