The group's original lineup consisted of such musicians like Matt Heafy (vocals and guitar), Brent Young (bass), and Travis Smith (drums). In 2003 they released their first album entitled Ember to Inferno. The LP had a huge success and earned the music contract with Roadrunner Records.
