The punk band Sleater-Kinney appeared in Olympia in 1994. Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker (ex-member of Heavens to Betsy) founded the band. They recruited Lora MacFarlane (drums) to record their first full-length eponymous album in 1995. After that the band issued Call the Doctor (1996), Dig Me Out (1997), The Hot Rock (2000), One Beat (2002), and The Woods (2005).
