Brian Setzer started the Stray Cats band in Massapequa, NY in 1979. The lineup consisted of Setzer (vocals and guitar), his brother Gary (drums), and Bob Beecher (bass). In 1981, the group's first eponymous album was released in the United Kingdom on the Arista label. The full-length entitled Gonna Ball followed the record.
