The group Behemoth is considered to be one of the leading death metal bands to emerge from Poland in the 1990s. The band made few records during its career (especially in the bass department). The singer/guitarist Nergal was the only constant member of Behemoth. The group was formed during 1991 (originally as a trio), and soon began issuing several demos, the most popular one was "From the Pagan Vastlands", released in 1993.
