Western Union has officially announced that it is teaming up with mobile phone service providers to build up a system that would give the users an opportunity to transfer money from country to country simply by using their mobile phones.
The Denver-based money-transfer company is planning to start its mobile service in the second quarter of 2008. Basically, it will provide a connection between cellphone users to a Western Union operator who will finish the process of the transaction using unique company software. Thirty-five cell phone operators that belong to the trade association will take part in the program.
