Microsoft has announced the manufacturers that will be releasing WP7 powered phones by the end of this year. The manufacturers are LG, Dell, Samsung, HTC and Asus. Microsoft has not denied that they are using the Google approach to Android. This ideology means flooding the market with numerous phones on multiple wireless providers. In theory, this business strategy is sound. The only question is how good the WP7 will be and how the market will embrace the mobile operating system. The Windows brand is still amongst the most popular and trusted in the world and Microsoft would be wise to flaunt the operating system in fill view of potential consumers. Tech geeks for the most part would frown upon the use of WP7, with many considering it an inferior operating system. However, the mainstream market would instantly recognize the familiar brand and they are the true cash cow that corporations like Microsoft are trying to win over.
