The Holy Roman Empire, I mean Apple, (Freudian slip) has updated its privacy policy and now states the following in the terms of agreement for both iPhones and iPad: “Apple and our partners and licensees may collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your Apple computer or device. This location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you and is used by Apple and our partners and licensees to provide and improve location-based products and services.” There is no way to fully disable geographic location sharing and users should be aware that Apple’s partners may now know exactly where they are at all times. The fact that Apple claims ‘anonymous’ information collection does not make this any more palatable. Apple could be very well be hiding the truth and it is highly unlikely that any governing body is going to be on the look out for such unethical privacy violations. Big Brother is watching even more closely now. I suggest you get used to it.
