Electronic retailer Best Buy has announced that it is slashing the prices on the Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two. The Kin One will now be available for free and the Kin Two will run customers only $50. Both phones will still require a contract and expensive data package from Verizon. Both the Kin One and Kin Two were designed to appeal to the adolescent demographic and both phones have been armed to the teeth with social applications and other tools and services that appeal to pimply faced youths. Despite decent design, both Microsoft devices have experienced relatively lackluster sales performances thus far since their launch. This could be the major reasoning behind Best Buy’s decision to cut pricing. Microsoft has always played second fiddle in the mobile industry and some experts believe that Bill Gates and company should return to their Windows and Office roots, where the company has lead the way for over two decades.
