Apple has finally approved the Opera Mini mobile browser for the iPhone and iPod. It took some silent prayers from Opera fans and crossed fingers throughout the blogosphere, but Apple has finally given the go ahead. The Opera Mini is now available for download via the App Store. Early feedback has been extremely positive, with some users vowing never to use Apple’s Safari browser ever again. Opera for mobile remembers previous pages and is much faster than Safari. (According to some users.) One drawback however is that Safari will remain the default browser. Email links for example will always been opened in Safari. This is a way for Apple to ensure that users will still interact with their pitiful excuse for a mobile browser. Opera has become a popular web browser, but still trails heavily behind IE, Google Chrome and other household names. It will be interesting to see how many iPhone users will download this new application.
