With the daunting and totalitarian agreement called Lisbon now in full force across the European continent, we should be seeing more laws and regulations take effect like the new GSMA initiative that will see major mobile manufacturers agree to use a universal micro USB port to charge their handsets. The European Commission offered the usual environmental excuse for the reasoning behind this new agreement that will see the likes of RIM, Apple, Samsung, Nokia and other major players participate in the continued overhaul in yet another EU ideological nightmare. For those who believe that the European Commission is doing this in an attempt to improve that quality of life for its constituents, I suggest a less naive approach. Technological uniformity results in limited technological advances because the designer is limited in scope and is unable to think outside the box. The EUSSR does not like outside the box creativity and would much rather people behaved like docile lemmings. Score one for the bad guys.
