Having met at a nightclub in Soho, London, vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire found common musical interest in vocal harmony and decided to work together. Their respective bands joined with several personnel changes, and Yes was formed. The idea behind the name was that it will work well on posters. Soon afterwards Yes opened for Cream and made a name for itself as a cover band that drastically changed songs they handled.
