The death metal band Vital Remains was founded in the late 80's, the group's original lineup consisted of Jeff Gruslin (vocals), Tony Lazaro and Paul Flynn (guitars), Tom Supkow (bass), and Chris Dupont (drums). Son after is founding the band recorded a couple of demos, Reduced to Ashes (1989) and Excruciating Pain (1990), which earned a contract with the Thrash label.
