The matel band called Soilwork appeared in Sweden in 1997. Bjorn "Speed" Strid (singer), Henry Ranta (drums), Ola Frenning and Peter Wiches formed the group (both: guitar). Carlos Del Olmo Holmberg (keyboards) and Ola Flink (bass) joined the group after releasing Soilwork's debut demo called In Dreams We Fall Into the Eternal (1997).
