The metal band called Soil appeared in Chicago in 1997. The lineup included such musicians as Ryan McCombs (vocals), Shaun Glass and Adam Zadel (both: guitar), Tim King (bass), and Tom Schofield (drums). In 1998 the group issued its first EP named El Chupacabra! The full-length album, Throttle Junkies, appeared the following year.
