The group Conception started with Norway-only independently released The Last Sunset in 1991. It consisted of vocalist Roy S. Khan, guitarist Tore Ostby, bassist Ingar Amlien and drummer Arve Heimdal. Two years later keyboard player Hans Christian Gjestvang joined them for their sophomore effort, Parallel Minds.
