Lead singer of rap-rockers 3rd Strike - Jim Korthe – spent his childhood in the ill famed area of Southern California. Running out from his unhealthy home life, he joined a gang at a young age, but after some time of violence climate and drug peddling, he left the gang to turn his attention to music with his friend, guitarist Todd Deguchi. These two put together a base for 3rd Strike, but against a background several unsuccessful tours and Korthe's own problems the band dispersed in '90s.
