    Streaming Podcasts At BlackBerry

If you have read the poem by Henry Davies - no time to stand and stare - then you will surely understand hat I am talking about. The world has become extremely busy and people are not finding time for themselves let alone anyone else. So it is not a surprise that the quality called virtue is on the decline and people want things done more quickly all the time.

This is where podcasting comes in, and for people with no time to stand and stare at their televisions or computers to read news and other information, Quickplay have a scheme for BlackBerry owners who could pay nearly eight bucks a month (plus some network charges etc) and get a daily updated content from several reputed sources like ABC News, etc on their mobiles. The only thing I hope is that you could…

    Skype Is The Limit

Have you experienced the freedom of talking for hours together with your favourite friend or even with total strangers using your PC? When if you use the internet (which you surely use otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this) and are a habitual talker as well, then I would be really surprised if you haven’t heard of the word Skype. But humans are never satisfied and always want more without any limit.

Sky is the limit as you must have heard, but for the people interested in conversations Skype is the limit. Having gained tremendous popularity in the PC circles, Skype have now set their eyes on the smaller screen. Recently Skype 2.2 beta for Windows Mobile was released. This has got several features such as profile personalization, multi-user chat and so forth.…

    IM-U160 From Pantech

The number IM-U160 does not represent the serial number of the new spacecraft from NASA but something similar. Well it is the model number of the new (extra) terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) phone from Pantech. Don’t get confused by the acronym of the phone, its not DuMB at all but a very bright phone which can be used to view TV as well in the wide screen and has an excellent aspect ratio of 15:9.

Just to clarify technical details, the aspect ratio is the relative width to height ratio of the screen and it affects the picture quality. The normal aspect ratio in mobiles is 4:3. No need for doing any calculations just believe me 15:9 is better than 4:3 when it comes to image quality.

Other features include a touch sensor keypad, 2 mega…

Samsung Brings Film Eragon To Mobile Phones

Now Samsung has come up with a mobile phone experience, which will soon be available at your local theaters. Huh? Yep, that’s right. Now the fantasy film, "Eragon" which will be released next month will be available for viewing even sooner on your mobile phone.

No one can say how blockbuster actors like Jeremy Irons and his costars, Sienna Guillory, John Malkovich and Robert Carlyle feel about sharing such a small stage, but then, Orson Welles once said there are no small parts; only small actors. (Alright, he didn’t say stage exactly, but improvisation is an important part of life, isn’t?)

It is quite amazing to consider that Samsung users in Europe will soon be able to receive free mobile contents such as film trailers, screen savers and…

    HSUPA Technology From Samsung

"Highly Seductive Ultra Pace Technology" - well that is not exactly what HSUPA means but coincidently it gives a fair indication about what it’s all about to the not so tech-savvy. Actually it stands for "High-Speed Uplink Packet Access" - what did you say? My definition was better! Ok thanks. Well I told you so.

Let’s get to the core now... actually this is a new technology from Samsung which was demonstrated by the company at the ITU Telecom World 2006. And what is simply means is that you can upload and download big sized data like pictures, files, video streams at much higher speeds than before which would result in time saving and more efficiency.

The first commercial HSUPA phone would be available in the market sometimes in…

    Wider Screen For Your Mobiles

Whereas the size of the mobile phones seems to shrink by the day, the size of the display is showing reverse trends. Maybe the days is not far when the mobile might be a piece of glass or display with all buttons in the form of touch button on the screen itself.

Well one issue with such mobiles would be their care. No more dropping them out of the pockets. Ok well just wake up! Nothing like that has happened yet and may be some time in the future.

As for the current developments, well in the recently held ITU communications show, Toshiba came up with a 3" TFT wide display screen. Just for some background information, a TFT screen is similar to the one you see on you laptop. This 3" screen has already been incorporated in many mobile models…

Mobile TV Advertising: Ericsson & NRK

Some good news for mobile TV fans. Ericsson and Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation have launched a mobile TV advertising.

You might wonder what’s so great in that. Well I forgot the word "personalized" in that. Which means it concerns "you" so might be of interest to you sure enough.

Volunteers (call them scapegoats) will be able to view two TV and five radio channels of the NRK on their mobiles and also will get personalized ads which would be based upon the viewers particulars like age, gender, location and so forth. Once the scapegoats are thoroughly massacred (read - 'once the experiment is successful') this would form the basis of a mobile TV advertising business model. So ready to make your place in history... that’s the…

Samsung B5800 With DMB Digital TV

Sometimes I just wonder if these mobile people are ever short of new ideas, well seems they are not. Infact to the contrary, they seem to be overflowing to the brim with idea making possible new handsets every now and then. Well good of we, the people who are so accustomed to the device now that life seems to be dull without one. So we are also on the lookout for new models, jazzy colours, fuzzy controls and all sorts of techno stuff we could think, dream and imagine of. Companies never fall short of our expectations as they bring in new models all the time with the latest techniques and technologies inbuilt.

One of such latest models to join the bandwagon is the Samsung SPH-B5800 which is a vertical slide phone and has got DMB digital TV in it. Apart from that…

The Mystery Of LG KU950 Mobile TV Phone

Mystery seems to be in air all around, and when the fog of mystery shrouds the atmosphere what else do you expect to come out of it…well its mysterious news about some new models of phones all the times, but as you would expect this is unofficial so read it with a little skepticism.

The latest mystery to pop out of the Pandora box consists of the LG KU950 Mobile TV phone model which has a T slider. If you ask what is a T slider well it slides by rotating at right angles and resembles the English alphabet "T". This combination of mobile phone and "T" might remind of you T-Mobile but actually this one is rumoured to be operating on the Vodafone sky TV instead, that too in the first quarter of the next year.

    What about the…

Sony Ericsson: To Mobile TV Or Not To Mobile TV

Why is Sony Ericsson not keen enough to launch a mobile TV cellphone? The other companies such as LG, Nokia and Samsung proudly announce the various versions of mobile TV mobile handsets almost on a regular basis. The Korean companies rule the roost with literally churning out new and innovative models almost on a weekly basis. Albeit speaking separately both Sony and Ericsson, the parents companies of the joint venture, have individually claimed that their companies would be developing software for mobiles and broadband TV.

So why all this cover up and from whom? Well it seems that for the moment Sony Ericsson is playing the wait and watch game and nobody knows when they will show their cards. May be that is the reason people are even more curious about it.…
