    Motorola i1 Available July 25th

Starting July 25th, Sprint customers will be able to purchase the new Android powered Motorola i1. The device will reportedly retail for $200, along with the ever popular (scoff scoff) two year contract. The Motorola i1 will come brandishing a 5MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth, Google Talk and other standard services and tools. The phone runs on an older operating system, the Android 1.5, which shouldn’t be too surprising considering that it is a bargain device. We have become used to Android phones being top of the line when it comes to hardware, but there is a huge market out there for the average and low end phones. Google and Motorola are looking to tap into that market, as they and other mobile service providers realize that in many ways, the mainstream public is a better…

Droid X Sold Out in America

Amidst all of the iPhone 4 drama, we have overlooked the amazing success of the Droid X. Since its release in mid-July, the Droid X has sold out in all Verizon and Best Buy locations in the United States. Those wishing to wait for the Droid X to become available again, will get their chance on the 23rd of this month. One of the reasons some industry experts believe that Verizon does not need the iPhone 4 in order to compete with AT&T in the smartphone market, is the carrier’s deepening integration with Android powered devices. Aside from the might Apple App Store, the Droid X is technically superior to the iPhone 4. The success of the Droid X cannot automatically be related to the problems Apple has encountered with the new iPhone, but there maybe a slight shift in the…

    Motorola Takes Shot at Apple

Apple is continuing to eat some serious cow dung over the reception problems with the iPhone 4. This time it is Motorola that is slapping the high and mighty Cupertino based tech firm that has been brought down to earth over this major kerfuffle. The new advertisement of the soon to be released Motorola Droid X device highlights all of the great specifications of the phone but also announces that users will be able to hold the Android powered device any way they wish. At the bottom of the ad it states ‘And most importantly, it comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls.’ There is no doubt that Apple will soon solve the reception problems that have plagued the…

    Here Comes the Droid X

On July 15 another mobile heavyweight is a set to hit the market. Its name Droid X, its carrier Verizon. If Steve Jobs and company were becoming concerned over the crowded mobile market, then they are probably soiling their trousers because of the Droid X. Motorola’s newest bad boy, the Droid X comes with a huge 4.3 inch TFT display, an 8MP Camera and an HD video camera. It comes standard with 32GB of memory, the much heralded Android 2.2 operating system and surround sound. This phone packs a serious punch and we are assuming will come at a hefty price tag. On paper, the Droid X can go toe-to-toe with the EVO 4G and the iPhone 4 with ease. However, Motorola is still considered a ‘b’ level manufacturer by some, though that bias decreased with the Motorola Droid which…

    160,000 Android Units Sold Daily

It is getting more and more difficult to dispute that fact that Google will soon become king and undisputed ruler of the mobile industry. Google has reported that it is selling more than 160,000 Android powered devices everyday, a figure that is not only impressive, but expected to increase over the coming months. Despite amazing sales in North America, Android phones have not caught the eye of the average consumer in Europe and Asia. Mobile chieftain at Google, Andy Rubin, is keeping his sights firmly on the Chinese market where he believes there is strong market potential for smartphones located at the lower end of the price spectrum. The latest Android device that is hitting the market is the Motorola Droid X. The Droid X is being offered by Verizon and is scheduled…

    Droid X Coming Soon

After the EVO 4G hit the mobile market like a hammer, another bomb is about to be unleashed via Verizon. It’s called the Motorola Droid X and it is rumored to be the fastest Android device ever. Powered by Android 2.1, the Motorola Droid X comes with a generous 4.3 inch display and a fast 1GHz processor. The rumors are circulating that Verizon will be launching the Droid X on July 19th, but no official date has been given. Motorola has enjoyed a resurgence of sorts after the release of the Droid device last year and it appears that the Droid X is set to continue that trend. A manual for the Droid X has been leaked and Android fans and mobile users in general can be assured that the device will soon be available, even if the exact date is unknown. Phones with hype have…

Motorola to Release Two More Android Phones

Motorola has announced that it will be releasing two new Android powered devices on July 7. Both handsets will be available via Verizon, the leading wireless provider in the United States. Motorola top dog Sanjay Jha wasn’t exactly quick to issue a battle cry as Motorola continues to struggle to compete with industry rivals. "We will introduce new Droid products in the Verizon franchise," said Sanjay Jha. Wow! Don’t throw too much information our way Sanjay. The lack of enthusiasm in general from Motorola does plenty to hurt their image. Say what you want about Steve Jobs and Apple, but there is never a dull moment when they release, or announce the release, of a new product. That doesn’t mean that the new Motorola phones won’t be successful, but it does…

    Motorola Purchases Azingo

Mobile manufacturer Motorola has increased its holdings in the mobile operating system market. Motorola has purchased a company called Azingo, which specializes in Linux based mobile operating systems. This move has raised some eyebrows, as Motorola’s partnership with Google and the Android OS was responsible for the Motorola Droid, considered by many to be the mobile device of the year. Towering sales figures of the Droid and the tidal wave of market penetration by the Android OS made most analysts assume that Motorola and Google would remain in bed together for a considerable length of time. A Motorola executive has mentioned that it would be ideal for the company to possess its own operating system however. Could Motorola be planning to separate from the Android, or…

    Motorola Devour Available from Verizon

The Motorola Devour is now available via Verizon, both online and at Verizon stores. The Devour has been dubbed by some as the little brother of the Motorola Droid. The price for this touchscreen handset will be $150 after mail in rebate and a two year contract, with which you agree to the whims of Verizon and acknowledge that you will submit to weekly sessions of painful and degrading sodomy. (Unless you’re a porn star, this is not something that should be happening in your life too often.) The Devour runs on the Android 1.6 operating system and comes with a 3 Megapixel camera. It is more the retarded cousin of the Droid than its little brother. Will I be buying the Devour? The answer is no. I firmly believe that you should either buy the best phone available, or the…

    Motorola CLIQ XT Available Tomorrow

A new Android powered handset will become available via T-Mobile tomorrow, March 17. The device in question is called the Motorola CLIQ XT, and will run users who are willing to sign their soul over to the carrier for two years for a total of one hundred bucks. Those wishing to purchase the device without signing a deal with the devil will have to fork over three times that amount. The Motorola CLIQ XT is likely to receive the upgrade to Android 2.1 which will be appealing to users who care. This Android phenomenon has become a huge tidal wave that doesn’t appear to be letting up any time soon. This has always been the Google way. We will flood the market with our product until people don’t have a choice but to use it. Thankfully, Google’s service is generally a…
