When it comes to the mobile phone industry - promotion is everything. Furthermore, one an impressive cellphone is released and proves to be popular among the users; other cellphone manufacturers try releasing something even grander. For instance the word on the street has it that the mighty Microsoft is working on creating an iPhone killer cellphone, which will be based on the Zune PMP. These assumptions are not entirely new; however Microsoft has now basically confirmed the numerous rumors regarding the potential release of the cellphone by stating that the concept of the so called Zune Phone is not a bad at all.
According to Mindy Mount’s statement, who is a chief financial officer of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division, revealed to the investors at Citigroup’s global technology conference, "it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think at some point there might some integrated thing". Mount did not specify anything when the question regarding the purchasing of BlackBerry-maker Research in Motion Ltd. Was raised, and alleged that the software mogul is currently content with its future in mobile technologies. But the issue still remains vague and major cellphone manufacturers are most likely to question themselves if Microsoft really does want to become a major player in this market.
