Often there’s a lot of buzz going on around the cellphone industry. Some rumors remain rumors, while others become a part of reality. Let’s go back to the year 2001 when Nintendo filed a patent for electronic apparatus having game and telephone functions. Back in November 2001 it was obvious that this game giant was seriously considering breaking into the cellphone industry. However, a lot of time has passed since the patent was filed and we still don’t see any connection between the cellphones and Nintendo.
But, we must keep in mind that the patent was issued only in June last year, so we still might get a chance to see a cellphone that will give us a great opportunity to play games on it. But the question that still remains is if and when this future cellphone will be developed will we have to purchase extra memory cards or will we receive emulated GBA-quality games on our mobile phones. So, guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
