Apple has announced that the long awaited and perhaps over hyped iPad will become available on April 3. This is a slight delay that will not ruffle the feathers of most potential consumers, with perhaps the exception being the most anal Apple fan boy. There is still much speculation regarding the initial frenzy that the iPad will create during its release. Most people agree that while there will be some long lines to be found, the iPad will not create the havoc caused by the second generation iPhone. Then again, if the iPad takes off, we may very well see massive demand several days and weeks after the release. Let us not forget that many mainstream consumers will not lineup to make a purchase, but will instead wait until they can waltz into a Best Buy and grab one. This means that if there are only sporadic lineups throughout the Untied States, we should not write off the iPad at that point. After all, the iPad is heavily geared towards soccer moms and they aren’t lining up at midnight.
