There is no doubt that SplashShopper was a solid app for the iPhone, but how useful is it on an iPad? Unless drag your iPad around with you day and night, there is no reason to use SplashShopper unless you have don't have an iPhone. New App Called Fish Farm Now Available

A new application called Fish Farm is now available for the iPhone, iPod and iPad. What is Fish Farm you ask? Fish Farm is an aquarium app where you can grow 3D fish for your enjoyment. It is a free application with the option of making some in-app purchases that make the game more enjoyable. What is the logic behind Fish Farm you ask? Nothing really to be honest. The application seems pretty inane, even though the graphics are nothing to sneeze at. The highlight of Fish Farm is that the fish will respond if you tap the screen on your device – much like tapping an aquarium. There are 74 3D fish that will help you pass the time on the subway or train ride home. "Fish Farm gives people the opportunity to care for exotic fish and construct their ideal freshwater or…

Micro-SIM Not Transferable from iPhone 4 to iPad

According to Apple and European wireless provider O2, the micro-SIM in the iPhone 4 cannot be transferred to the iPad and vice versa. This is sure to sadden some Apple fans, but according to O2, there is a valid technical reason for this. Nick Wilkins, spokesman for O2 said, ‘the micro-SIMs for the iPhone are set up to allow voice calls, SMS messages and data functionality, whereas the iPad micro-SIM is provisioned to allow pay-as-you-go data transfer only. The two devices are designed to give a different experience. The iPhone 4 is for regular use, whereas with the iPad we offer more flexibility over data use.' While we are not questioning the honesty and integrity of O2, we certainly are when it comes to Apple. The highway robbers at Cupertino have long been known for…

Pandora Announces New Advertisers for iPad Platform

Pandora, the internet music service, has revealed the first wave of advertisers for its new iPad ad platform. The three are Starbucks, Budweiser and Lexus. Pandora’s advertising service allows companies to target consumers in a robust manner, including age, gender and location. The advertising move by Pandora is part of the company’s long battle with bankruptcy after it was forced to pay higher fees to recording labels for the music it provided. With royalty fees being so extravagant, Pandora was forced to find other ways to make their business model solvent. Advertising is a logical choice and Pandora is making great strides in order to get a better footing in the mobile advertising market. John Trimble, CEO of Pandora, could hardly contain his excitement regarding…

Apple sells over 2 Million iPads

Apple has sold over 2 million iPads. The Cupertino based tech firm made the recent announcement that comes 60 days after the device’s release. The majority of sales have come from the United Sates, but that is scheduled to change with the launch of the iPad in Canada and some countries in Europe and Asia. Steve Jobs has recently behaved more fanatical that usual, shaking his fist in defiance at anyone who dares challenge him. With the iPhone HD scheduled for release soon, we can only assume the Lord Job’s behavior will worsen. 5,000 apps have been created specifically for the iPad thus far and Apple is expecting developers to continue with this impressive release rate. Apple may have trouble increasing the amount of apps for the iPad after many developers have become…

    Apple Drops No Cash Policy

Has Apple’s iron fist ideology softened somewhat, or is this a case of publicity prostitution? A woman in San Francisco recently attempt to purchase an iPad with cash, only to discover that Apple did not allow cash purchases. "It took quite a long time for me to just save up this small amount of money to go down and purchase one," she said."I had my cash in the backpack and I went up proudly to the counter and told them, 'I would like to purchase an iPad.'" She was at the Apple store in Palo Alto, about to pull out the big wad of cash and take home her first computer. Instead, she received a terrible blow.
"They said, 'Sorry, we don't take cash.' After a report by a local TV station in San Francisco, Apple sent two henchmen to the woman’s…

Rupert Murdoch Happy with the WSJ on the iPad

Media despot Rupert Murdoch has informed his evil league of shareholders that the Wall Street Journal has thus far been more profitable on the iPad than on the Amazon Kindle. Lord Murdoch has revealed that WSJ currently has 64,000 iPad subscribers who are forking over $18 a month for the privilege of reading the newspaper. Murdoch makes this sound as if he has accomplished the incredible. Of course the WSJ is more popular on the iPad than on the Kindle. The iPad has a larger screen and better resolution, making it ideal for newspapers and magazines. It is ebooks that are the problem for the iPad. The Kindle screen is more forgiving on the eyes and obviously reading a book involves longer stretches of use and more concentration than glancing at the headlines of the WSJ.…

AT&T Limits 3G Use on the iPad

iPad users were dealt a major blow when AT&T announced that it was going to limit some of the 3G streaming services available. Notably, ABC and Netflix, with the former being blocked and the latter being downscaled. Even YouTube videos will only stream at minimal resolution. This is a massive blow for Apple and iPad users. AT&T can claim bandwidth issues until tomorrow, but a service like Netflix is one of the main reasons to purchase something like an iPad and forcing users to Wi-Fi instead of 3G is a major drawback. The biggest problem for Apple is that most iPad users do not differentiate between the 3G provider and the manufacturer. For them, both companies are the same, which means AT&T’s shortcomings become Apple’s shortcomings as well. Either AT&T needs to…

Apple sells over One Million iPads

Apple has sold over one million iPads. That is the number given Chitika Labs. This means that over one million peasants obediently listened to their overlord and supreme ruler Steve Jobs and went out to purchase one. The main reason for the success of the iPad has nothing to do with the iPad, but rather with the demented iLife terminology that Apple has used to brainwash and enslave millions of helpless peons. The iPad is an ingenious device and a breakthrough in interactive technology, but even the best product in the world, which the iPad is not, should not have seen these kinds of sales figures. Apple is riding the wave of our fad driven society, where things are imperative because they are trendy and not because they are meritorious. Apple is engaging in legal…

    Truphone for the iPad

An application called Truphone allows iPad users to make phone calls via Wi-Fi. All iPad models come included with Wi-Fi connectivity, thus in theory allowing any iPad user when connected to the internet to make a free phone call to other Truphone users, as well as cheap phone calls to mobile phones or landlines aboard. The reason we used the word ‘theory’ in the previous sentence is because the iPad Wi-Fi is so crappy that any VoIP application may not prove to be practical. Apple has not been able to solve the Wi-Fi connectivity problem so far and there is serious concern that the issue cannot be resolved with a simple upgrade, but rather by replacing the antenna in the iPad itself. Until this problem is rectified, Truphone for the iPad may not be feasible. However,…
