I will be the first to admit that I am not a big fan of Apple or their ‘i’ mentality. But in an effort to be more subjective in my thought and opinions, I decided to watch the iPad presentation on the Apple website. I must confess that I was thoroughly impressed. The user friendly interface, the beautiful screen, the outrageously large number of features and option, all had me thinking that I should bite the bullet and purchase one of these babies in two months time. Just when everything was going swimmingly, I discovered that there was no detachable memory option for the iPad. (i.e. no USB Cable.) All thoughts of purchasing the iPad went straight out of my mind. Obviously, Apple could very easily have place a USB port somewhere on the iPad, but they didn’t. Perhaps it was a marketing or financial strategy, or perhaps the geniuses in Cupertino though that we would all love to use iTunes for the rest of our lives. Well not me. No USB means no purchase of the iPad. Apple just lost more than a few customers.
