The tree huggers over at Sony Ericsson are planning to release a new handset in their eco friendly Green Heart series called Hazel. The Sony Ericsson Hazel is an environment friendly phone that supposedly is made of entirely non hazardous materials. The Hazel does not rest on its laurels however when it comes to features. The handset, scheduled for release in 2010, has a 5MP camera, 319 MB of internal memory with 16 GB of external capabilities and a 2.6 inch color display. Hazel is a 3G and Wi-Fi phone and apparently includes a whole host of useless pre-installed applications and social media software. While we applaud Sony Ericsson for their desire to make our world a cleaner place to live, it would be prudent for them to concentrate on making a good handset, rather than just an environmentally friendly one. The Sony Ericsson Hazel has no official launch date, but will probably appear at your unfriendly neighborhood wireless provider sometime in the middle of 2010.
