It looks like the Coo Coo Puffs over at Dell finally realized that they need to be more heavily involved in the telecommunications industry. Dell made this announcement at a recent trade show, thumping their chests and patting themselves on the back for what they consider a brilliant move. Yes, this is definitely a brilliant move if it were implemented two or three years ago. But now, Dell is really behind on the technological and sales curve. Almost all successful and progressive hardware manufacturers are involved in some may in the mobile industry. Why it took Dell, a company known for forward and innovative thinking, this long to see the light is a question left up to soothsayers and sages. In any case, Dell will create a new mobile business unit that will effectively combine all of their mobile offerings under one roof. The new initiative will be headed by former Motorola executive Ron Garriques.
