Rumors have gained considerable merit regarding the new BlackBerry Storm and Wi-Fi. It all started when a sneaky German blogger took a picture of the Strom 2, codenamed ‘Odin’, showing Wi-Fi in one of the menus. Adding Wi-Fi would naturally be a sound movie on the part of RIM, mainly for the criticism the Storm 9500 received for not having one. In fact, one of the main reasons I did not purchase a Storm the first time around was the lack of Wi-Fi. (That and the horrendous touchscreen.) A video was posted online about month ago, previewing the new Storm and promising Wi-Fi as one of the key new features. The video has since been removed however, so there is no way to confirm this. Regardless of the rumors, I cannot imagine RIM not adding Wi-Fi to the new Strom. RIM is a company that learns from mistakes and is constantly improving and tweaking its handsets. Two times will be a charm in my opinion.
