Train operators in California have been given a temporary ban on using cell phones while on duty. This limitation on cell phone use comes after investigators of the recent Los Angeles train wreck claim that the operator on duty was using his cell phone to text message instead of paying attention to the events transpiring at the time. We at Funtonia can only sadly laugh and shake our heads with despair. Why a temporary ban? There should not be any cell phone use of any kind allowed by conductors or train crew while they are working. Imagine if you were flying and discovered that the pilot was talking on his cell phone while trying to land the plane. You would either A) have a stroke, or B) attack the pilot, kill him and then politely ask the crew if there was anyone else left who could land the plane.
