The female band Vixen was founded in Los Angeles in the early 80's by singer Janet Gardner, bassist Share Pedersen, guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, and drummer Roxy Petrucci. In 1987 the group signed the record contract with the EMI label, which released Vixen's first eponymous album the following year. The "Edge of a Broken Heart" track sent the LP to the top of charts.
