The Sweden-based hardcore group Refused was founded by Magnus Hoggren (bass), Dennis Lyxz&en (vocals), David Sandstrom (drums), Kristofer Steen and Jon Brannstrom (both: guitar) in 1991. The band released such EPs as This Is the New Deal (1993), Everlasting (1994), Refused Loves Randy (1995), and Rather Be Dead (1996).
