It turns out the Android 2.2 kicks the crap out of IOS 4 even more than we thought. The results of SunSpider and V8 were extremely clear that when it comes to speed, IOS 4 eats that dust of the new Android operating system version. The only argument is how much faster? The V8 test claims that the Android 2.2 is three times faster and the SunSpider is just shy of twice as fast. In any case, this is a small victory for the Android over the iPhone. I say small because the speed of the operating system isn’t everything. The iPhone still has two distinct advantages over the Android. 1) The App Store is still the dominate force in application distribution. 2) There is an Apple on the iPhone. Please do not make the mistake of assuming that there is any humor in that statement. Apple is an extremely powerful brand and it will take more than a great product to compete with the iPhone.
