The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included two Van Halen tracks from the 80s, Runnin' with the Devil and Jump, among the top 500 most influential songs. With the song Eruption, guitarist Eddie Van Halen invented and introduced tapping, a new style of playing guitar solos altogether. Eddie and Van Halen as a band have become with these songs and scores of others an important, influential and largely imitated band.
