About Steve Earle
Steve Earle is an odd character in the country music industry. While his music is largely roots rock, influenced by Bruce Springsteen as much as it is country music in the Nashville mainstream style, it is also political, both in content and in the directions Steve Earle takes it in. An example, one of many, is the song Ellis Unit One, an anti-death penalty song Earle wrote, appeared in the movie Dead Man Walking in 1995.
